BTL. Your service partner at the trade fair.
Servicing trade fair companies.
Our field of work includes support to big trade fair companies. This makes us a service partner at the locations Düsseldorf and Munich. At Düsseldorf on the River Rhine our main tasks comprise statics and everything concerning ‘pre-rig’ which are the extensive attachment structures below the hall roof used by exhibitors and stand builders for the attachment of components, sound systems and lighting. We are further operating from offices in the trade fair locations Berlin, Frankfurt/M., Hannover and Poznan (Poland). Due to our capacities and organisational structure we are able to offer our services to trade fair companies all across Europe. No matter if Manchester or Barcelona - we will adapt to all kinds of local conditions.
Servicing exhibition stand builders.
The smooth interlocking of the various crafts is among the outstanding challenges of our trade fair operations: Just like cog wheels in a clockwork the workings of all those involved need to intermesh and the more complex the stand’s construction, the more important this is. Coordinating the installation and dismantling process is one of our competencies and we are sought-after partners to exhibition stand builders. Our services include consultancy services at the planning stage as well as the effective collaboration in the exhibition hall. We provide the stand’s technical infrastructure, in particular the required cross beams. Furthermore we also deliver the whole panoply of media technology. One of the core areas of our work is the realisation of one and the same booth concept at different trade fair locations with their respective standards, static conditions etc.
We also gladly give direct support to exhibitors. In most cases this involves smaller stand spaces for which we either provide the complete technical equipment or single components - this could be a mixing console or a particular spotlight. Our consultancy expertise based on longtime experience again comes into play at this point. Because running an exhibition stand means having to observe the fair’s own set of rules and regulations, for example regarding the permissible sound levels. Often exhibitors can choose to order our technical equipment through the trade fair companies’ ordering channels.
Showtime: BTL at the trade fair
Expo Real 2017
The Expo Real, which takes place in Munich each year, is the leading fair for property and investment in Europe. Also at this year’s event we equipped several stands with event and media technology: extensive cross beam systems, stand illumination, projection and display technology, and of course a trade fair-compatible public address system.
World of experience at “die boot” 2017. Impressions.
The trade fair’s big appeal is based on the fact that it creates an indoor water world and visitors can give it a try in the activity areas. No dry run on the surf board, the wakeboard or the small sailboat but off they go into the water. As one of Messe Düsseldorf’s technology service partners BTL has for years been involved in the realisation of these areas. The world-famous diving tower has been a major attraction in the past years. This year a new activity is causing a furor in the media: The WAVE
We also captured some impressions on Video.

Drupa 2016: Fujifilm
The Fujifilm companies’ exhibition booth serves as a good example of a stand’s extensive overhead structure. Covering around 2000 sqm of a purely ground-level exhibition area means the visitors will not be able to determine the stand’s expansion. The suspended ceiling “reflects” the stand’s space and thus allows navigating the Exhibition.
CompaMed: The forums.
Apart from the exhibition area, the fair offers its visitors a supporting programme with information areas featuring lectures and opportunity for discussion. BTL provides the technical infrastructure including video technology, public address systems, lighting and cross beam designs. Throughout the fair, our technicians provide technical support for the programme. These areas are subject to the same regulations as the exhibition stands: the sound level has to be adapted to the forum’s size and any leakage must be avoided.
polis The Convention 2017
The trade fair for project and urban development provides a clear example for all-round support delivered by BTL: The entire cross beam system above the exhibition stands as well as both stages including the set construction and media technology was provided from a single source. During the event both stages and the speakers received technical support.
Seamless display walls are an attractive medium to use at your exhibition stand, in a foyer or a lounge as they allow you a decorative as well as informative presentation of video or other content. In this gallery we show you a few examples.
MEDICA 2015: Forum of the Techniker Krankenkasse
At the MEDICA also providers like the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) present themselves. Their products are only indirectly of a tangible nature. They are de facto about the presentation and explanation of content within the framework of lectures and discussions.
GDS 2016: The Fashion Show
The GDS – International Shoe Fair takes place twice a year. Besides various other areas such as the lounges or the Highlight Route we also provide support for the presentation of the collections on the catwalk. We provide for the appropriate lighting for both the visitor and the show area, the music playback and sound system as well as the show calling. During the presentation the shoes are displayed using large-screen video and we record the entire event. Already 30 minutes after the show the recording is available for download to all stations and independent media in four broadcast Formats.
K-Trade Fair 2016: The pre-rig for hall 6
Depending on the size of the hall and the stands there can be a lot going on in the “airspace” above the visitors. For reasons of security very strict rules and procedures apply here. Similar to air traffic, controllers oversee the safe takeoff and landing of the participants. In this case “takeoff” stands for the planning of and preparatory arrangements for an exhibition stand and “landing” describes the setting up and realisation within the allotted space of the hall. As the trade fair’s service partner this is BTL’s responsibility.
A+A 2015: Presentation of workwear
At the A+A trade show exhibitors have the opportunity to present their products on the catwalk. It stands to reason that especially producers of workwear take advantage of this opportunity. Spectacular stage sets, pop music and a professional choreography deliver a clear message: Workwear is fashionable. For this “fashion show“ of the world of work BTL provides the whole gamut of event technology, set and stage construction, show call and support service throughout the event.
A+A 2015: UVEX
This serves as an example of a stand’s extensive overhead structure with big floating ceiling panels made of sprinkler gauze. Priority was the even illumination of the stand space with white HQI-light and the highlighting of individual exhibits with Moving Lights. A central role in attracting visitors played the big 16 screen seamless display wall on which a series of product videos were shown. This was complemented by a set of speakers for targeted Irradiation.
